Designated as its own historic district in the Town of Brookline, the Wild-Sargent estate at 26 Weybridge Road is the only remaining estate home of the three that once graced the area. The Main House dates back to the 18th century and has undergone significant renovations several times since. The existing Carriage House was in danger of collapse and beyond repair. The grounds, including the historic gardens, required attention.
Our decision was to restore the Main House to its condition in the early part of the 20th century in accordance with historic blueprints found in a closet on site. In addition, we constructed the Carriage House to incorporate the design cues provided by the former carriage house noted above.
The project was developed in joint venture with The Even Group and was designed by the architectural firm of Tise Design Associates. Baypoint Builders was the general contractor.
Both the Main House and the Carriage House were marketed as single-family homes. The Main House features restored original paneling and details, and the Carriage House reflects a less formal attitude. Beautiful, private gardens separate the two dwellings which were both sold during construction.
