Still the crown jewel of Revere Beach, the St. George is a 12-story, 240-unit condominium building with unobstructed ocean views from every unit. Featuring an indoor swimming pool, a private beach club and a lobby worthy of a luxury hotel, the development won numerous national and local awards for both the quality of its architecture and the creativity of its marketing.
The St. George was designed by the architectural firm of DiMella Shaffer, and its bold, stepped design and the pink color of its exterior panel work made it an instant landmark on the country’s first public beach. The marketing of the project was done “in-house” on a pre-sale basis by the developer. The result was that 80% of the units were under binding Purchase & Sale Agreements with non-refundable deposits prior to ground-breaking. With the recession of the late 80s looming, the developers had the foresight and made the commitment to rent all of the unsold units in order to stabilize the asset.
The St. George Seaside Condominiums and Beach Club became the bar for the future residential development along Revere Beach that continues to this day.
