The Kelley School
The Kelley School
Built in 1872, The Kelley School was designed by noted Newburyport architect, Rufus Sargent. The school provided elementary education for generations of Newburyport students. In 2014, The Kelley School was the subject of a public disposition focused on historic preservation and adaptive re-use. Developer Merrill H. Diamond’s team and JV partner, aligned with architect Stephen E. Tise, was designated by the City of Newburyport to accomplish the City’s objectives. The result is a re-purposed residential building that preserves an important part of Newburyport's educational and architectural heritage.
