Once the 1000-acre estate of Thomas W. Lawson, known as The Copper King at the turn of the last century, Dreamwold (“Dream Fantasy”) had fallen into a state of serious disrepair. We purchased the property and, working with municipal, community and historic preservation groups, renovated the main mansion house and grounds into 21 condominiums. Seven units were developed within the original mansion and another fourteen units, each architecturally and historically compatible with the existing architecture of the main house, were developed in and around a newly constructed rose garden and pool.
Dreamwold was the first condominium development in this South Shore seaside community (and one of the first on the South Shore), and we relied on a waiting and unserved market of "empty-nesters” who had raised families in large homes in Scituate. As it turned out, Dreamwold pulled from as far away as the City of Boston, and all of the units were quickly absorbed.
Our development company was responsible for both the architecture and the marketing of Dreamwold.
